WEB HOST BACK UP... From Webs.com, Wed. Nov. 11, 2009
Webs Outage
So what happened yesterday? Basically, a construction crew working on a road accidentally cut through a major piece of fiber that was delivering internet to the datacenter where our servers are hosted. As a result, we got completely cut off from the internet. It took them several hours to lay new fiber down. Unfortunately Webs.com and sites were down during this time.
It’s a rare occurrence to have a fiber cut but it happens. We were feeling the outage pain together with all of you, and unfortunately, this one was completely out of our hands. Nevertheless, we are doing a review to figure out ways to add even more redundancy to be safe from unanticipated events like this in the future. I do understand that nothing is more important than your sites being available 24/7, 365 days a year.
Also, if you would like to stay on top of any outages or events we experience, please feel free to follow us on Twitter or Facebook.
Best Regards, Haroon, CEO, Webs.com
