Almond, Blueberry and Brown Sugar Oatmeal
Ingredients:
1/2 cup slivered almonds, toasted 4 cups 1% milk 2 cups old-fashioned oats 3 tbsp. packed light brown sugar 1/2 tsp. v anilla extract 1/4 tsp. each salt 1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg 1 cup fresh blueberries Directions: Toast almonds in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat, stirring often, 3 - 4 minutes or until lightly browned and fragrant. Transfer to a plate and cool. Combine milk, oats, brown sugar, vanilla, salt and nutmeg in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, 5 minutes or until tender. Add blueberries, then almonds. Makes 4 servings.
